Cahill sets sights on most Australian goals

Everton star Tim Cahill has set his sights on becoming Australia's leading all-time goalscorer.

The 29-year old has netted on 19 occasions for the Socceroos and on the eve of the Asian Cup qualifier in Oman, Cahill says he believes he can reel in Damian Mori who sits on 29 goals for his country.

"It's always good to score for Australia," said Cahill.

"The feeling's great when you score and if it's a winning goal, hopefully it's going to be tomorrow night.

"Definitely it's something that I pride myself on - scoring goals - and working hard for the team first of all.

"But I'm a young boy, I'm only 29 and I think I've got loads of time to beat that record."

Cahill has scored five of Australia's last seven goals and when he hits the back of the net, his country has never lost, which is an astounding statistic but admits all of the Socceroos' forwards are capable of providing a winner when required.

"We're all capable of doing a job here. Yes, we miss Josh Kennedy and Scotty (McDonald), but we're all very experienced players," added Cahill.

"(Harry Kewell) has been a bit up front, I've done a bit, it's exciting because we can all seem to produce when we play for Australia and hopefully we can do that on Saturday."
