Tim Cahill is aware that the Australian national team needs to tidy things up in the lead-up to next month's World Cup.
The Everton star knows that the Socceroos were not at their best in the friendly with New Zealand on Monday but he is confident things will get better in the next three weeks whilst praising the Trans Tasman neighbours.
"We are ready for a World Cup so we've just got to work hard and tidy a lot of things up on the training pitch but it was never going to be an easy game against New Zealand," he said. "They are a good team, they are very disciplined, they're strong, they are big boys so I think they will probably upset a few other teams over there (South Africa) as well."
After three players were not given a ticket to South Africa yesterday, the Socceroos now have a squad of 28 to take to the tournament which will again be cut to a final 23 but Cahill says that as long as the players stick together, the team can achieve success.
"There's still a team to be picked, there's going to be boys getting dropped this week and hopefully we can just keep the team together and see what happens," he added.
