Tim Cahill insists Everton can still achieve plenty this season.
The Blues have a tricky-looking schedule in the next few weeks but the midfielder is confident that progress will be made.
"I think the hunger's there," declared Cahill, who has been captaining Everton in recent weeks in the absence of Phil Neville and Leon Osman.
"Being in the FA Cup final last year and finishing fifth in the league, we have to build on that. We definitely are good enough - it's whether or not we can make it happen. We're at the stage where we've got to kick on."
Although players and manager have not used it as an excuse, Everton have been suffering with a lengthy injury list of late - and Cahill is looking forward to welcoming back some key squad members.
"The lads that have been in the team have been fantastic and we need that bit of extra help," said the Australian to evertonfc.com.
"It's about how we kick on and get more injured players back to share the workload."
