Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill has paid credit to coach Steve Wigley for his rich scoring form.
Former Manchester City and Southampton assistant Wigley was appointed by Gary Megson last summer and has since become an integral member of the manager's backroom staff.
Cahill has praised the work done by England Under-21 coach Wigley on the training pitch, hoping that the extra shifts will continue to work over the festive period in games against Burnley and Hull.
"From my experiences of Steve as a coach, he's awesome," the defender said. "The sessions he puts on are really top drawer, and I know the lads really enjoy them.
"It's a really important couple of fixtures now. Everything is so close that a couple of wins would see us really move up the table."
