Cahill feels he could have done more for Everton

Tim Cahill feels he could have done more for Everton this season despite scoring just under 50% of their goals. The 31-year old attacking midfielder has netted eight times for the Toffees this term but suggests that he has not been at his best, mainly due to injury, and wants to provided more for the team.

"I probably should be on a few more goals than I already have," said Cahill.

"I think this year I have focused a lot more on trying to stay fit. As you get older people question you and they seem to try and find holes in your game."

Cahill and Everton are preparing to take on Manchester City tonight and the Socceroos star says that the close-knit nature of the Toffees' squad can overcome the star-studded City line-up.

"What we have here is a close group, a good base of lads who love the club and with youngsters coming through constantly - I wouldn't want it any other way," he added.

"They have got some big names but we are capable of competing with anyone."
