Cahill expects to be right for Australia's World Cup opener

Tim Cahill says he will be ready to go for Australia's World Cup opener against Germany on Sunday (Monday morning ACST) in Durban.

The Everton star has been struggling with a neck injury he sustained during the warm-up match against the USA last Saturday and there were initial fears that he may miss the opening Group D clash but he says he hasn't been thinking about that scenario at all.

"I don't want to focus on injuries, and if the game was on tomorrow, I'd be there,' Cahill said.

"I'm training fully again today so I'm very confident that if selected I'll be able to play on the weekend."
