Cahill: Derby biggest game in Everton season

Tim Cahill says for Everton today's clash with Liverpool is the biggest game of the season.

Everton are struggling for form this season, with many saying it's already a write-off.

But Cahill told evertonfc.com: "This is the biggest game of the season - for Liverpool and for Everton, and it's probably going to be the most talked about game before and after, on how much it means and how it can pan out the season for both of us. It can take a lot of pressure off both teams and both managers.

"This weekend is the perfect antidote for us to try and put everything back together. I don't think just a win against Liverpool will make everything okay, I think more consistent performances from us as individuals and then as a team, will hopefully help us put things right.

"I'm quite excited for the weekend as I know what this weekend could bring if we do what we are capable of. We just want to do well. Be as compact as we can be and not concede, and we'll be alright. Because it seems at the minute we're not getting the right end of the stick, and it seems to be the same for Liverpool.

"Obviously we're lacking confidence in some areas, maybe all over the park. But in this sort of game you can put everything right, and show that the fight is there. We don't want to be kick starting their season because they are in a similar position."
