Cahill demands apology from Chelsea's Essien

Cahill nicked Everton a point with this stunning overhead kick two minutes from time.

But the Aussie was more bothered by Blues hardman Essien's studs-up challenge which clattered his Everton team-mate Leon Osman.

Cahill said: "I was behind Ossie and I heard the crunch. So if he has gone in a bit high he'll know it - and he will apologise later.

"Essien is known for a few dodgy tackles. But Ossie is still walking and that's the main thing.

"Everyone has a dodgy tackle from time to time in football - as long as he knows what he's done."

Essien was booked by referee Alan Wiley for the challenge which sparked fury in the Everton dugout.

Goodison boss David Moyes said: "It was not the best."

Didier Drogba had given Chelsea the lead - but the draw left them five points behind leaders Manchester United.
