Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill is expected to win his first England cap today against Slovenia.
Cahill will become the first Bolton player in seven years to take the field for England after Michael Ricketts' appearance in 2002 - before which the barren run stretched some 39 years to Freddie Hill in 1963.
England coach Fabio Capello has vowed to employ all six available substitutes, and sources in the FA camp suggest that means he will not risk John Terry playing a full 90 minutes after the Chelsea man pulled up in training earlier this week.
