Cagliari striker Robert Acquafresca has credited coach Davide Ballardini for his success this season.

He said: "I have to thank Coach Ballardini for his trust. Once I managed to unblock myself I immediately found the continuity I've been lacking since the beginning of the campaign."

Acquafresca didn't score for four months but is now being praised by Cagliari's greatest ever player.

"I am honoured to be complimented by Gigi Riva," he noted. "He is a football legend and I am only a boy aged 20."
