Cagliari are ready to release Roberto Donadoni from gardening leave.

Donadoni was fired a month before the start of the Serie A season for reasons that have still not been entirely clarified.

It was claimed there was a row between Donadoni and President Massimo Cellino over the failure to sign David Suazo.

It is now reported that Cagliari have formally requested the termination of his contract, which still runs until June 30, 2012.
