Cagliari president Cellino to have back three points

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino welcomed the ruling that hands back the club the three points it was penalised over it's pursuit of legal action against Gianluca Grassadonia.

"Justice has been served in the true sense of the phrase," said patron Cellino. "I must compliment the President of the CAF for proving he is a real man of law."

The change takes them off the foot of the table on 28 points, leapfrogging Empoli on 26 and Reggina with 27.

"Now we must earn our safety on the pitch, game after game. I have done my duty, but I don't play and it is now up to the players. I have a great deal of faith in them and the Coach."

It's a crucial morale-booster ahead of this weekend's clash with title chasers Roma, but tactician Ballardini is not getting swept off his feet.

"I would have been upset had they not given back the three points we worked so hard for. We are happy with the ruling, but it changes nothing for us," said the Coach.

"We must fight until the end to achieve safety and focus on Saturday's game with Roma."
