Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has handed coach Massimiliano Allegri a vote of confidence.

"Allegri will eat his Christmas panettone in Cagliari," Cellino insisted, despite Cagliari yet to collect a point this season.

"There is no need for me to give my Coach the vote of confidence because there was never a doubt.

"I'm hoping that we are like a racehorse and that we start slowly but then speed up as we go along."
