Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has apologised to fans after another defeat on the weekend.

"At the moment all we can do is apologise to the fans," it reads. "The lack of results is simply our fault.

"We can't blame bad luck or the referees. All we can do is work as hard as we can and stay together through this negative period.

"The fact that we haven't managed to get results this term has caused us extreme pain but I would never go so far as to suggest any kind of refereeing conspiracy.

"We kept a Press silence after our game yesterday because we wanted to avoid unnecessary words.

"Massimiliano Allegri is working well and his side just haven't been getting the results they deserve."
