Cagliari midfielder Andrea Cossu is thrilled with his first call to the Italy squad.

Cossu was called up for Wednesday's international friendly against African side Cameroon.

He said: "I dedicate it to my city and the whole club, right from the kit staff to the President. If I have received this call, it is thanks to them.

"In all honesty I had never thought of my Azzurri chances and really did not expect to be called this time.

"Now I hope to do well, will try to give my best, just as I do every day for my club."
