Cagliari and Parma are battling for Chievo Verona striker Victor Obinna.

The Nigeria international is expected to leave Chievo before the summer transfer window shuts, despite claims from Chievo president Luca Campedelli that he will stay with the relegated club this season.

Cagliari have the inside-running for Obinna, whose future remains influenced by Inter Milan. Inter brought the Nigerian to Italy before sending him to Chievo and they have a 'gentlemen's agreement' over where he should next move.

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino intends to call in a favour after fighting hard to make sure David Suazo joined the Serie A champs earlier this summer in the face of stiff competition from AC Milan.
