Cagliari defender Davide Astori was pleased to see action for Italy in their draw with Bulgaria.
The defender has not played a single minute of Serie A football yet this term amid transfer gossip.
"I really wanted to play and do well. My teammates helped me, especially as it wasn't easy because at that point Bulgaria were pouring forward," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I am glad my season has finally started and will do so with Cagliari on Sunday. In these first two rounds we picked up three points, so we hope to notch up more as the campaign goes on."
