Cagliari have announced Massimo Ficcadenti as new coach.

Former Italy boss Roberto Donadoni has been axed after a falling out with President Massimo Cellino at the Sant'Elia.

Ficcadenti is available after he quit Cesena over the summer despite keeping the Seahorses in the top flight.

This will be the tactician's third stint in Serie A after a problematic spell on the bench of little Reggina in 2007-08.
