Brazil legend Cafu says there's nothing sinister in Real Madrid wing-back Marcelo not being called by Selecao coach Dunga.

Cafu argues this week's internationals were being used by Dunga to "test" alternative players.

"Marcelo is a good player with great quality, but he knows what Dunga is doing and Dunga knows him," said Cafu.

"It's a transition period for the national team and I think Dunga's decision is not final regarding Marcelo."
