Caceres banking on a 'tired' Adelaide

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Adrian Caceres is hoping Adelaide United come out of their ACL final exhausted. With a reshuffled fixture to coincide with Adelaide United's Asian Champions League matches, there is an A-League match this weekend that the Mariners are solely focused on.

Caceres touched on the fact that it was such an important game for the Mariners and the fact that the Reds have a gruelling schedule could play into the Mariners hands.

"Hopefully they won't be buzzing and hopefully they'll be very tired after playing a full 90 minutes and possibly extra-time," Caceres said.

"They've done really well but hopefully we can get them on the rebound, while they're tired and down and out.

"It's very important," Caceres said of the A-League match on Saturday.

"I think this is going to decide whether we are going to be up there in the top four for the season but in saying that, we've just got to play to our normal game and hopefully get away with the three points."

The Mariners are also looking forward to their own experiences in the Asian Champions League when they are a part of the competition next season.

"It's great, it's very good for the team and Australian teams to do very well in the Asian Champions League.

"It is a very hard competition and it would be great for Central Coast Mariners to do that next year and hopefully get as close as Adelaide did."
