Newcastle United midfielder Remy Cabella felt frozen out by former manager Alan Pardew.
Cabella is grateful to caretaker manager John Carver for bringing him in from the cold.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "I haven't played a lot in the last six months.
"Little by little I play.
"When the JC calls on me I have to be the best. I give the best for the club. I have confidence with JC. Maybe because I play.
"I have to give him everything on the pitch."
