Cabaye wants Newcastle's French contingent to learn English!

Yohan Cabaye has urged his French compatriots at Newcastle United to learn English as quickly as they can.

The Magpies have 14 players on the list who use French as a first language and Cabaye suggests it would be smart of them, particularly the winter signings, to become more fluent in English.

"We are in England, so it's logical to learn the language as quickly as possible," Cabaye told L'Equipe.

"The easiest way would be not to learn it, but that would be disrespectful. If ten Italian players came into a French club, we would like them to learn our language.

"It's up to the elders like me, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa and Romain Amalfitano to fulfil our role and help our fellow countrymen to communicate with their team-mates."
