BVB seriously consider move for Arsenal striker Giroud

Borussia Dortmund have stepped up their interest in Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to Sky Sports.

The French striker has started just one Premier League game for the Gunners this season.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang expected to join the Gunners this month, Giroud could be tempted to ask for a transfer in order to secure more playing time ahead of the World Cup in June.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat are in Germany as negotiations over Aubameyang's transfer continue.

There has been no fee agreed for Giroud but the Bundesliga club are seriously contemplating whether to bring in the 31-year-old if Aubameyang goes in the opposite direction.

The 28-year-old wants to leave Dortmund and was left out of their squad on the weekend.
