Borussia Dortmund have opened talks with Arsenal for Olivier Giroud.
RMC says Dortmund have now contacted Arsenal and initiated negotiations to take the France striker to Germany this month.
Giroud has been identified as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose father and agent is in talks with the Gunners about a move to London.
For his part, Giroud is open to a move - but only in the form of a six month loan. The striker is seeking regular first team action to stay sharp for the World Cup.
Giroud's proposal would suit BVB, which would keep the 31 year-old for six months before sending him back to Arsenal and replacing him with a younger permanent option.
