Butland calls for intense Stoke showing against Everton

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has called on his teammates to bring the intensity for Saturday's six-pointer against Everton.

The Potters currently sit 19th, but a win at the bet365 Stadium would likely pull them out the relegation zone.

Butland said: "I thought we gave it everything against a really top side. Everyone pushed to the end and that's all you can ask. We got undone by a top team. We did really well to keep them at bay for long periods of the game but unfortunately two early goals at the start of each half killed us.

"There were a lot of positives and we have to take that intensity into the Everton game and make sure we win at the weekend. Saturday is an important one and we have to take heart from putting in a strong performance – and make sure it's a win.

"We are not going to get too upset about a defeat against Man City. We know what are capable of doing and what we need to do to get out of the bottom three. So heads up and all focus on Everton."
