Stoke City keeper Jack Butland has made his long-awaited return from a stress fracture he suffered last year.

The 24-year-old played 90 minutes for the Potters' U23 side as they lost to Brighton & Hove Albion at Amex Stadium on Monday night.

Butland suffered his injury while playing for England in a friendly against Germany in March. He featured for the Potters during pre-season, but multiple setbacks extended his spell on the sidelines.

Mark Hughes will be hoping Butland is back available for the seniors in the coming weeks as Stoke have lost their past Premier League matches to fall to 13th on the table.
