Hibs boss Terry Butcher is delighted with their loan deal for Arsenal defender Daniel Boateng.

Butcher admitted he was pleasantly surprised he was able to bring Boateng, who has made just one substitute appearance for Arsenal, to Scotland.

He said: "A lot of people were amazed Hibs got him because he was in demand by a few English clubs but being an ex-England captain can sometimes help.

"Daniel is a big boy, a powerful lad and he's good on the ball."
