Butcher over the moon following Inverness' victory over Rangers

Inverness Caledonian Thistle boss Terry Butcher was delighted with how his side went about their business in their 3-0 Scottish Communities League Cup win over Rangers last night.

Caley deservedly got through to the semi-finals on the back of goals Andrew Shinnie, Gary Warren and Graeme Shinnie and Butcher was over the moon with the result, especially as it put the club into the final four of the competition for the first time.

"I'm absolutely thrilled," Butcher said. "We talked about what it would be like to come here and play, a lot of the boys hadn't been here before.

"It's a fantastic place to play football, very intimidating, but I thought they handled the occasion very well.

"They played some lovely stuff and we always believe we can score. The shape of the team was excellent and everybody worked hard.

"It was an excellent performance and I'm very pleased."
