Busy LA Galaxy owner leaves Beckham, Tottenham hanging

LA Galaxy star David Beckham has been left sweating on a proposed loan move to Tottenham.

The Sun says the whole deal is under threat because his LA Galaxy chiefs, the AEG Group, are involved in a £1billion bid to buy the San Diego Chargers gridiron team.

Billionaire businessman Philip Anschutz, head of AEG, would need to give the green light to any loan deal involving the Galaxy's biggest star.

But Anschutz is devoting all his time to the gridiron bid and will not talk about football matters until at least the end of this week.

Beckham hoped to sign for Spurs in time to face Manchester United next week.

A team insider said last night: "This issue isn't going to get resolved in the next day or two so everyone is going to have to wait. The owners have bigger things to deal with and the head coach is in no hurry either."
