Discarded goalkeeper Jon Busch has joined MLS club San Jose Earthquakes.

The 33-year old was released by the Chicago Fire last week after the new Collective Bargaining Agreement made it hard for the club to pay his salary despite him being the number one choice for the past two seasons.

Busch won the 2008 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award with the Fire and also spent four seasons with Columbus Crew but will now suit up for the Earthquakes who were beaten 3-0 at home by reigning champions Real Salt Lake in the 2010 season opener on the weekend.
