Former Liverpool and Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant is happy over his move to Bury.
Pennant, whose last club was Tampines Rovers in Singapore, is under contract at Bury for the rest of the season.
He will be paid £2,000 a week at Gigg Lane, a fraction of what he earned at Arsenal, Liverpool and Stoke.
And he told The Sun: “I could have earned five times more by staying in Asia.
“But I was away from my family for a year, which was hard for them.
“My agent knows the Bury gaffer, Chris Brass, very well, and they said come and give it a go.
“The decision was made and, if my wife's happy, I'm happy."
