Burns proud with Perth Glory fightback

Perth Glory skipper Jacob Burns was very proud of his team after they came back twice to force a 2-2 draw with Melbourne Heart on Sunday.

The league leaders fell behind in just the 4th minute when Gerald Sibon converted a penalty only to hit back 15 minutes later thanks to a Heart own goal. Melbourne again took the lead, through Nick Kalmar in the 37th minute, before the visitors rallied to put plenty of pressure on in the dying stages, eventually winning a last-minute penalty which Robbie Fowler dispatched to make it 2-2.

Burns says the spirit of the side was evident as they worked right up until the last second to get another positive result at AAMI Park.

"We never stopped working and I'm very proud of the boys," Burns said after the game.

"We had a fantastic result here (at AAMI Park) against Victory, so that bred a bit of confidence in the camp. We were happy to come back here, we knew we were in for a tough game and credit to the boys they stuck to the job."
