Diego Penny is ready to stand in for the injured Brian Jensen when Burnley play Hull City this weekend. The Clarets' number one stopper was forced out of their home defeat to Wigan after suffering ankle ligament damage and is a doubt for the visit of The Tigers.
"I always want to see my team-mates fit to play, including Brian, but in this situation I had to replace him and I did my best," the 25 year old Peruvian told the club's official website.
"All of my team-mates showed me their support and for me that moment was very important. I was very excited about it. It's hard to come on but I tried to do my best.
"When I came over everyone knows I started to play but then things changed and after that we got promoted so I have had to be patient and keep working hard all time, the same as Brian.
"I am waiting for my chance and if I have to play against Hull I will do my best and hopefully we will get the three points."
