He may 38, but Burnley midfielder Graham Alexander boasts an amazing fitness record.

Ahead of today's derby at Blackburn Rovers, the Scotland international has had made 78 consecutive league appearances for the Clarets!

Alexander told the Sunday Mirror: "I didn't know that.

"But I do know I have scored 67 penalties from 73 attempts - because I heard them say it on Sky last week.

"The last one I missed? I don't know, I think it might have been five years ago when I played for Preston against Mansfield in the Cup. But I'm not sure.

"The thing is that these things mean more to other people than they do to me.

"I knew I was going to get asked about my age so I was going to make something up just to make myself sound interesting.

"Clarke Carlisle told me to say that I eat goji berries, but I've no idea what they do for you so I decided against it!"
