Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is in the frame for the Burnley job.
The Daily Star says Pearson is running out of patience with chairman Milan Mandaric as contract negotiations continue to drag.
The Foxes boss, 46, has been promised a new deal as a reward for leading Leicester to the Championship play-offs but is still yet to sign.
And Burnley will target Pearson this summer if Brian Laws cannot prevent relegation back to the Championship.
The Clarets will only have to pay £300,000 in compensation to prise Pearson away from Leicester.
