Burnley takes another Premier League scalp

Burnley have caused another upset by defeating West Bromwich Albion 3-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

After their fantastic Carling Cup campaign where they dumped out Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal and came agonisingly close to beating Tottenham in the semi-final, the Clarets have accounted for yet another Premier League team.

A Steve Thompson double ensured the victory and Owen Coyle's men will now meet either Cardiff or Arsenal in the fifth round.

Wade Elliott opened the scoring prior to half-time with a stunning 20-yard strike before Thompson doubled the advantage seven minutes after the restart from close range.

The Baggies hit back less than ten minutes later thanks to a superb low drive from Gianni Zuiverloon but all efforts were scuffed out when Thompson tapped in just before full-time to complete the victory.
