Sean Dyche has been cut from 10/1 to just 6/4 to be the next Aston Villa manager, with Sky Bet reporting a sudden influx of bets.

The Burnley boss has emerged a surprise contender with the Clarets making a solid start to life in the Premier League.

Steve Bruce remains the favourite while caretaker boss Steve Clarke is also in the frame.

Sky Bet's Dale Tempest said: "We've seen relentless money for Sean Dyche to be the next Aston Villa manager today but the money doesn't seem to add up to much more than speculation.

"It would be quite the surprise for him to quit Burnley after leading them into the Premier League again and already getting a couple of wins under the belt, even though Aston Villa is obviously an interesting project for an ambitious manager."
