Sought after Burnley winger Chris Eagles is targeting promotion to the top flight next season. The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Everton but still has half of a two-year deal to run at Turf Moor.
And the former Manchester United trainee has indicated he intends to be at Burnley come the new Championship campaign.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Starting off this season was difficult because there was a lot of speculation whether I was leaving or not.
"I missed the first four or five games and I didn't know what was happening. But as soon as I started playing I knew I wanted to stay, which is why I signed the new deal.
"It's a shame we didn't get in the play-offs. Teams like QPR and Norwich, who have gone up this year, you couldn't say they've got more than us. But there's always next season and I'm sure the gaffer is going to add to the squad."
