Burnley signing Eagles: Right decision to leave Man Utd

Burnley have landed Manchester United winger Chris Eagles.

Eagles has signed a three-year contract with the Championship club and joins for an undisclosed fee.

"I've been away on tour thinking about it and it's been a hard one because I've been there so long - to get it finally signed though is good and I just want to start training now and meet the lads." Eagles told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"It's been like a comfort zone - I've been there for so long, it was hard moving away as I knew everyone from the cleaner to the manager, but I believe it's a big step and a step in the right direction."

Eagles also said he was not sure which position he had been earmarked for by Manager Owen Coyle: "I'm an attacking midfielder - whether he plays me on the wing or midfield I'm not really fussed - right, left or centre."

Coyle added: "He can play as a striker, or behind the striker or wide or as a central midfielder.

"He gives you a host of variations, but out with that he's a talented footballer and that's what we want - young exciting talents to compliment the quality we already have."
