Burnley on brink of signing Everton winger Lennon

Burnley are wrapping up a deal for Everton winger Aaron Lennon.

The Mirror says Lennon is close to leaving Everton to join Burnley for a nominal fee.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is prepared to let Lennon go after landing Theo Walcott for £20million and Burnley are long-term admirers of the former England winger.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche tried to persuade Lennon to come to Turf Moor in the summer and the Clarets have renewed contract with Everton.

Lennon, 30, feels he needs to quit Goodison Park three years after first arriving on loan, despite making 19 appearances for the Blues this season and wants to play regular first-team football.
