Burnley News: Gudmundsson says Clarets just like Iceland; Dyche embraces Arsenal test

Burnley midfielder Johann Gudmundsson says there's similarities between the club and Iceland.

The Clarets have beaten Chelsea, earned draws at Liverpool and Spurs, and kept clean sheets in their last three league games.

"You can see there are similarities," he acknowledges. "There is great team spirit and no big egos, just everyone wanting to play football and work for each other.

"Team sport can be so weird. You don't have to have the most expensive team to do good things and we showed that this season."

Meanwhile, Clarets boss Sean Dyche says today's meeting with Arsenal will offer another good sign of how far they have progressed.

Dyche believes the fixture is another chance to see where his side stand in relation to the Premier League's top six this term.

"When you come across these clubs, the result is an obvious measurement, but it's about how you're performing against some of the biggest and most powerful teams. How have you gone over a season against the superpower clubs?," the Turf boss said.

"That's something to look and add in to the idea of the bigger picture. Is the team actually moving forward?

"We work one game at time but it's my job to look beyond that. Playing against the big teams is a measurement of where you are against them."
