Burnley News: Dyche excited to work with Nkoudou; Pope calls for teammates to dig in

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is excited to be working with Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

The on-loan Tottenham winger impressed on debut in defeat to Crystal Palace.

"Flashes of encouragement, definitely," the Clarets chief said of Nkoudou's debut.

"He has to learn how we operate obviously, he hasn't played a lot of football and he's only been with us a couple of days.

"I think he'll add to that the more he gets used to us and what we're about, but there were certainly flashes, at the end he broke through and nearly found the pass which makes the difference, the one for Johann when he nearly has a chance and it just goes behind him as he breaks down the line.

"There were little moments but I think there's more to come."

Meanwhile, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope says it's time to dig in after defeat to Palace.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat at re-vitalised Crystal Palace stretched Burnley's winless run to six league games.

“We're not playing badly at all, nothing like that," said Clarets keeper Pope, who was denied an 11th clean sheet of the campaign by Bakary Sako's first-half winner at Selhurst Park.

“We just keep plugging away, working hard in the week and then go again against Manchester United next week.

“It can happen to anyone. It's a good league. You never get an easy game.

“We've known that even on a good run – even when we hit the top four.

“The same again next week. It won't be easy and we won't have an easy one all season.

“We all know that and we just have to prepare and be ready for next week."
