Bardsley played alongside David Beckham in their days together at United.
“I was lucky enough to watch Beckham do it on a regular basis but that was Beckham-esque. It was phenomenal," said Bardsley.
"He's had a few chances that have been close, so I was delighted for him to get the goal today.
“It's a tough one to take because we were so close. But you have to take a point when you come to these places.
“For me it's the best ground in the country and it's always nice to play here. It's a great occasion, a great stadium and you thrive on it and try and enjoy it.
“We were so close to the three points, which I think the effort and the belief and the all-round team attitude deserved."
"It's a tough one when you get so close to three points, it's a tough one to take but it was backs to the wall once we got the two goals," the centre back said.
"We knew they were going to come out and attack us and press us and move the ball fast. We dealt with most of it but the scruffy goal at the end was a right kick in the teeth.
"We're very organised as a unit and a team and when we're 2-0 up we feel like we can hold out and keep them out.
"We would have liked to have had the ball more but it's tough when you come away from home at a ground like this and you know you're going to be in for a game."
