Burnley News: Barnes targets record finish; Everton hero urges Dyche to stay

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes insists they can shoot for a record finish this season.

Barnes netted his first of the campaign on Saturday to help Burnley to a 2-0 win over Swansea City, a third successive top flight win for the first time in nearly 43 years. Burnley now sit in seventh place.

We have to strive for being the best we can," Barnes said.

“I think we have to set our sights high. It's one game at a time from the gaffer and our main aim is to be better than last season."

“A top player who cost as much as he cost wouldn't just have to do that to be acclaimed."

Meanwhile, former Everton captain Phil Neville says Burnley boss Sean Dyche should stay where he is.

Dyche is being linked with Everton, but Neville says: "I wouldn't leave if I was Sean Dyche.

"Why would you want to leave when you have a team progressing like Burnley?"
