Burnley are moving for Stoke City veteran Peter Crouch.

The Sun says Clarets boss Sean Dyche has prepared a £500,000 deal to bolster his attack with the Stoke striker before the transfer deadline on August 9.

Dyche wants a forward with top-flight experience to compete with Sam Vokes, Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood up front.

Crouch is 37 but was on Chelsea's wishlist back in January as they looked for a target man.

Two goals in his final six games of the season was not enough to save Stoke from relegation.
