Burnley midfielder Joey Barton insists he was worth his place at Olympique Marseille.

Barton spent a season at Marseille.

He told JDD: "Sure, I did not score many goals, but I was one of the most important in the dressing room.

"There were many good players there but the French players have the ability to cause problems.
