Burnley goalkeeper Diego Penny is ready to step up for their clash with Hull City.
Penny's last start was a glamour tie against Brazil - but now the Burnley goalkeeper is desperate to face Hull City.
With Brian Jensen suffering the freak ankle injury in that 3-1 loss at Wigan, it is likely that Penny will have the chance to cash in by starting for Owen Coyle's side in their home game against Hull on Saturday.
Penny's Barclays Premier League debut against Wigan last weekend made headlines in Peru. And he was pleased with his performance - and the reaction of fellow Burnley players.
"All of my team-mates showed me their support and for me that moment was very important," he said.
"I was very excited about it. It's hard to come on but I tried to do my best. The score was unlucky but now we have to think about Hull.
"I am waiting for my chance and if I have to play against Hull I will do my best and hopefully we will get the three points."
Penny came into the game against Wigan in excellent form for Burnley's reserves. But the 25-year-old, signed from top Peruvian club Coronel Bolognesi in June 2008, has been an understudy to Jensen since his debut on the opening day of last season.
"It is hard," admitted Penny. "When I came over, everyone knows I started to play but then things changed and, after that, we got promoted so I have had to be patient and keep working hard all time, the same as Brian.
"Brian is a good mirror because he's a strong man and always shows you what's the best. We are partners and team-mates and he's a good guy. He gives me good advice."
