New Burnley boss Brian Laws is eyeing Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp.

The News of the World says Laws made several attempts to sign Sharp for Sheffield Wednesday but couldn't afford him.

Now, as Burnley's new boss, he can compete for the 23-year-old hotshot, who is currently on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Sheffield United.

Sharp has been prolific since being loaned by Sheffield United to Doncaster, where he has scored 10 goals in 17 league starts.
