Burnley fullback Kieran Trippier admits leaving Manchester City was "devastating".
Trippier penned a new deal with the Clarets this summer as he prepares for the Premier League.
Right-back Trippier, 23, said: "It was devastating for me to leave Manchester City as I was there from such a young age.
"It was just so hard to break through as the owners took over and all the money came in. They started buying lots of players and I was going down the pecking order.
"I always believed that I could break into the Premier League with City.
"For a youngster it was really hard to take. I was doing well in training and the reserves, but did not get the nod. That's when I realised they did not have faith in me and I needed to move on."
