Burnley fullback Tyrone Mears believes he's an outside chance for an England World Cup call.
Mears thinks he has a chance of impressing if the Clarets can stay in the top half of the table and he pushes himself as the first-choice option to Glen Johnson - with Micah Richards struggling at Manchester City.
The born-again defender said: "I want to play for England. That was why I came to Burnley, to play against the best teams and given myself a platform.
"I played for Jamaica when John Barnes gave me a call. I wanted a game at the time because I was out injured at Marseille and they didn't have a second team.
"It was just a friendly, so it doesn't make any difference or stop me playing for England and that is my aim."
